    Thailand's 2025 reform lets foreign-flagged yachts of 24 metres and over hold a one-year charter licence, with charter fees carrying VAT and 5 percent corporate income tax through an appointed fiscal representative and licensed member agents handling the ministry applications. The licence, the fiscal representative and the agent file each renew on their own schedule, and crew visas run 30 days against import permits of up to 30 months. The office absorbs every renewal in between.

  3. Indonesia closes charter to foreign flags

    APAC

    Entry runs on the online Vessel Declaration, a customs temporary import of up to three years filed through the YachtERS system, and foreign-flagged vessels may not charter in Indonesian waters. The structuring conversation happens before the boat ever goes south.

  4. The PDPA reaches offices without a Singapore address

    SG

    Singapore's privacy law, the PDPA, binds organisations handling personal data in Singapore whether or not they are incorporated there, with penalties up to S$1 million or 10 percent of annual Singapore turnover, whichever is higher. An office holding owner identities, crew records and financial flows is squarely inside it.

    Nearly every hull you manage sits inside its own single-purpose owning company, with its own directors, flag, insurers and owner's rep. Privacy regulator published AI framework

Carrying passengers for hire between US points is restricted to US-built, US-owned and US-documented vessels, so a foreign-flagged, foreign-built yacht can only run a bareboat (demise) charter in US waters, not a crewed one.

Lloyd's market builds AI governance

An LMA survey published April 2026 (39 firms, over 60% of Lloyd's stamp capacity) found 93% of responding firms have or are developing formal AI governance frameworks, with over 60% mandating human review of AI outputs.
