Why this report
The dam broke in 2022.
Technologies that had been building for decades suddenly became accessible to everyone. At the same time, billions in investment were adding to that volume at tsunami scale. Together they broke the dam, and now we are all learning to keep our heads above water and swim confidently.
Our industry is somewhere inside that wave. Some have built a boat and are motoring. Some are sailing. Some are swimming. Some are floating. Some are drowning. And some have got out and found the beach.
I think we would all find it valuable to understand where our industry is at. This kind of data does not exist for us the way it does in commercial maritime or other sectors.
