From the Executive Summary
AI tools are entering superyacht industry organisations faster than the governance frameworks designed to manage them. This report maps relevant regulation, code, convention, and emerging frameworks to 12 superyacht industry subsectors — identifying where each framework addresses AI explicitly, where existing provisions can reasonably extend to cover AI by implication, and where frameworks have not yet addressed AI specifically. The superyacht industry generates approximately $62 billion in annual economic contribution globally, with over 6,100 yachts in operation. No survey data exists for AI adoption specifically within the superyacht sector, but the closest indicator suggests 81% of shipping companies are running AI pilot projects while only 11% have formal policies to guide scaling.
